No one else holds the remote control to your health other than you. Your very health and well-being are in your hands, so you have to be aggressive in every step you take. This has everything to do with your lifestyle and how well you conduct yourself. Every day we open our eyes and stare at the ceiling, we are faced with two choices that we have to make. We have to choose between health and sickness, but unknown to most of us, we end up choosing sickness instead of health. We choose sickness when we feed our bodies with unhealthy diet or take drinks that are clearly not healthy and will end up causing all kinds of complications to our vital organs.
It does not cost a dime to give your body the kind of retreat it rightfully deserves. We have to change our perception for our health to make a complete turnaround. The perception that we must have a fat bank account for us to be adequately nourished.
Here are some ideas that will cost you absolutely nothing;
1. Take a walk outside around your neighborhood in the cool and quietness of the young night.
The breath of fresh air is just what you need to liven up your breathing system and for you to feel fresh and new. This only cost you some bit of calories and pounds, you’ve lost them, but you have gained so much.
2. Lounge in the sun out in your backyard.
Be sure to do this in the morning sun when it is still warm and soft on your skin. The vitamin D in the sun will kiss your skin, giving it all the necessary and natural requirements for it to glow.
3. Take a bath.
A feel of that coolness of the water will do your body, soul, and mind so much good. It is even better for your heart as it stimulates your nerves and controls the efficient flow of blood around your body. Sounds good? Then try some and as much as possible stay away from hot water. Nothing good comes from it.
4. Read a book.
This is the best and healthiest way to engage your mind. Read informative material that will impart you with all the knowledge you need to better your health status.
Now that we are in the know about how best to treat ourselves, we know better than to immerse ourselves in everything that spells out terminal diseases and illnesses. We should choose life by doing everything we know that is right for our bodies. There is more to the term retreats than we care to know. It does not only mean that we should pay for expensive vacations to the Caribbean and sail on the yacht for our minds to completely be at rest.
There is life in all the ‘little’ things that we choose to ignore on a daily basis. For example, spending quality time with your loved ones by either playing games with them or watching movies is good for your heart and body. It is sad that we only realize this when we are much older but hey, it is never too late to turn around and start afresh and make the necessary adjustments.
